SAFE SLEEPING CAMPAIGN

Published by Shellee Smith on January 29, 2013

GMAG is working on an important video to educate families about unsafe sleeping practices.  We have partnered with ICAN Associates and First 5 LA to raise awareness about the dangers of sleeping with infants or placing them in a crowded crib.  The statistics are sobering.  Did you know that a baby dies from suffocation once a week in Los Angeles County, often while sleeping with family members?  It’s a tragic accident that is completely preventable.  Here are some important tips to remember to keep your babies safe:

decades

1.  Share a room with your baby, not a bed

2.  Place your baby on its back, ALONE in a crib

3.  Give your baby space to breath–no pillows, blankets, toys or bumper pads.
We hope our video opens eyes and saves lives, so families DON’T WAKE UP TO A TRAGEDY.
